About TPM:

TPM!  TPM's full meaning is "Trusted Platform Module". It's a microcontroller which is located on the Motherboard of a Computer. It is also known as "ISO/IEC 11889" too. TPM comes in two versions, including TPM 1.2 and TPM 2.0TPM is an international standard for Secure Cryptoprocessor. It's a "Cryptoprocessor". It is designed to secure hardware through integrated cryptographic keys. It is hardware support for encryption and security. Because our computer's software security level is not fully secured! Software security functions can be bypassed by hacker's malicious code and advanced malware or virus. So, software security or anti-viruses can't provide the allover security of devices. Hardware security is a better solution for this.


TPM's functionalities: 
  • Basically, it's a chip that works as a cryptoprocessor.
  • It generates cryptographic keys and stores those keys.
  • TPM generates RSA keys.
  • It also generates an SHA-1 hash (Secure Hash Algorithm) to encrypt data.
  • Multiple physical security mechanisms are included in TPM to make it tamper-resistant.
  • Generally, TPM chips have been discretely soldered in the computer's motherboard. 
  • TPM prevents the compromised file or software from loading, halting before that can start attacks on your system or computer.  


Software Security is not enough at all! So, Hardware Security and encryption are needed here highly. Here TPM is a very effective solution. It performs hardware-based cryptographic operations to secure encryption and prevents malicious attacks from attacking your hardware and boot process. TPM 2.0 version is more secured in comparison to the TPM 1.2 version. Because it's the latest version of TPM for now. So, TPM 2.0 is required for Windows 11.
